Johnny Johnny Johnny: a regretrospective of sorts: Juan Alcazaren III

“He sighed from the depth of His spirit.”

Mk 8:12

Oh Johnny, when will you ever learn? When will you shut up and listen?

When will you remember to forget? When will you stop repeating yourself?

When will you start from the beginning? When will you begin from the start?

When will you stop making proposals with holes in them? When will you stop asking

pointless questions? When will you stop asking for stones and scorpions?

When will you use the right tools? When will you stop playing the fool?

When will you ever learn your lesson? When in doubt, take the high road.

Leave it all behind, take nothing for the journey. Leave the better left unsaid left unthought.

Leave the painting to the painters. Leave the curating to the curators. Leave the writing to the

writers. Leave the naying to the naysayers. Leave the casting to the casters.

Leave the caving to the cavers. Leave the wandering to the wanderers.

Leave the folding to the folders. Leave the whispering to the whisperers. Leave the cutting to the

cutters. Leave the bleeding to the bleeders. Leave the waiting to the waiters. You are a waiter.

Get things in order. Patience wins your soul. Give soul to the word. Serve with disinterest and a

smile. Animate your verbs. Take the stairs. Solve by walking. Triangulate.

Hesitate. Hydrate. Emulate.  Oblate. Immolate. Annihilate. Obfuscate. Proliferate.

Expectorate. Expect no tips. Expect the unexpected.

Select the unselected. Inject the uninjected. Neglect the un-neglected. Erect the unerected.

Reflect the unreflected. Correct the uncorrected. Infect the uninfected. Affect the unaffected.

Resurrect the un-resurrected . Begin again.

Endure until the end.

Johnny.
