Founded in 1989, West Gallery is a contemporary art gallery dedicated to supporting and presenting Filipino artists across different stages of their practice. Run by artists Soler and Mona Santos, the gallery has long served as a platform for both emerging and established artists, fostering dialogue between new generations of artists and mid-career practitioners whose works continue to shape contemporary Philippine art.

Expanding from its initial venue along West Avenue, Quezon City, the gallery has had locations at the historical art hub, Art Walk in SM Megamall, Rockwell’s Powerplant Mall, and Glorietta 4, bringing new artists to the general public It has since returned to its origins on West Avenue, now with multiple spaces to host simultaneous exhibitions, designing a program that creates intersections with different artists from various groups.

Through exhibitions, collaborations, and ongoing engagement with artists, West Gallery maintains a commitment to diverse artistic approaches and evolving forms of contemporary expression. Over the years, the gallery has become known for its support of experimental practices alongside painting, photography, installation, sculpture, and interdisciplinary work, contributing to the wider conversation surrounding contemporary Filipino art.

In 2020, West Gallery organised ALT Philippines alongside eight contemporary Filipino galleries, with the intention of reframing the notion of the art fair by programming art-driven presentations, continuing to be a part of the broader conversations of Philippine art.
